For the past 11 years, Aislinn Adams has gradually converted her shady front yard in downtown Salem from a scrubby lawn to a verdant native plant wildlife garden that hosts approximately 60 native species. The most recent addition is a rain garden that adds new native wetland species to the mix.
A member of the Willamette Chapter of the Native Plant Society of Oregon, Aislinn will describe how she transformed her yard. The talk, which will be offered at the Straub Environmental Learning Center, 1320 A St. NE, next to Olinger Pool, is free and open to the public.
