The Empire Striking Back: Utilities wage campaign against rooftop solar

An obscene campaign that puts electric utility execs and revolving door regulators on the same level as tobacco execs who claimed not to know smoking was hazardous or addictive.

A utility regulator friend writes:

Hahahaaha. These guys . . . Always a day late and a buck short. What really is scaring the pants off of them is cheap batteries (but solar is easier to attack right now). Once that's available (and it will be sooner than anyone thinks) residential customers are going to cut the cord. Energy efficiency upgrades- $3000, Solar panels - $5000, 2 week whole house battery - $3500. Last check to [PGE] ever - Priceless.
