You need more stuff to hold all your stuff! See this Salem Craigslist ad for info on how to get $25 off first month's storage rental at Northgate Storage (just north of Pine near Portland Rd.). We rented a unit there for two years while we searched for the perfect place to set up LOVESalem HQ and it was fine. I can't compare it to other places in Salem, but we had no problems there in two years; our 10' x 10' unit was stuffed to the gills and it was clean and dry and seemed plenty secure.

We had stuff for over a year at the indoor storage place at Hawthorne and Market, just south of Pietro's, and it was fine. Price reasonable, people nice, clean and dry.
The lady in the office once told me, though, that they had auctions regularly of the contents of units whose bills weren't paid. That particular week, it was a huge number--like 40 units. And that was before the economy REALLY got bad.
In America, we may generally have quite a lot "too much stuff at the end of the money." Might be worth downsizing our expectations of what we can drag through life with us.
