STRONG Salem is for everyone who wants to help and participate in getting Salem, Oregon, to quit chasing Growth Ponzi Scheme plans and instead become a resilient, fiscally responsible place that lives by the wisdom that "Communities exist for the health and enjoyment of those who live in them, not for the convenience of those who drive through them, fly over them, or exploit their real estate for profit."
not free. Susidized.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the comment, with which I could not disagree more.
ReplyDeleteA subsidy is where A gives B money to reduce the apparent cost of a what would otherwise be a private transaction between B and C, usually in order to make B more profitable.
The public which built and pays for the operation of the library (A) is the same public that is welcome to come and enjoy this event, which is being offered to the public for free. There's no B or C in a deal where the public uses publicly owned resources to education to the public.
