We had a death at school today -- our facilities director. He collapsed in his office and efforts to revive him failed. I had two of his daughters as students in the last few years; one daughter graduates from college this weekend. It will be a tough time for them.
Yet another reminder that we have only now.

STRONG Salem is for everyone who wants to help and participate in getting Salem, Oregon, to quit chasing Growth Ponzi Scheme plans and instead become a resilient, fiscally responsible place that lives by the wisdom that "Communities exist for the health and enjoyment of those who live in them, not for the convenience of those who drive through them, fly over them, or exploit their real estate for profit."

A teacher friend sends this reminder
Great stuff: the sudden break of the curve ball
It's sometimes good to be reminded that when we look at something, we don't just observe it, we participate in creating what we're seeing.
This one is great too.
